Modern Australian Animals Party, by Red Wagon Events

I saw this party on Kara's Party ideas and I was stunned. Such a unique theme and gorgeous styling by Red Wagon Events.

I love how this theme could easily suit an adult or child's birthday party. The black and white palette  works great with the minimalistic and modern styling. The pops of colour are a fun touch and break the dark colour scheme.

Scroll down for the vendor credits at the end of the post.

The perks of having a baby niece

My sister called me last night asking me for a favour. My little 4 months old niece is just starting to eat and she desperately needed a planner to help her keep the introduction of solid foods organised.
This proud auntie does everything for her beautiful niece, so she came to the rescue and designed a printable kit specially for her :)

Not having kids myself yet, I find it hard to understand exactly what new parents need, but now that there is a new baby in the family, I'm starting to learn more about children and parenthood.

Introducing solid foods and keeping track of new ingredients in the baby's diet can be overwhelming. These files were designed according to a new mum's needs, to make it easier to plan the baby's meals with new ingredients, flag reactions and keep track of progress.

There's a food chart that you can fill in with the ingredients recommended by your doctor for your baby's age. You can then tick them off once successfully introduced to your baby or flag eventual reactions.
This can be particularly useful if you need to leave your baby with someone that doesn't know what he's eating already. Just hand them the list and they'll know which foods to avoid.

There's also a monthly planner where you can write the meal/ingredient every day, mark if the baby liked it or not and any reactions.

I'm so glad I could help my sister with this otherwise overwhelming task, and I'm sure this will come in handy to a lot of other new parents out there.

You can find this printable kit in the shop.

Valentine's Day Printables

This month is all about Valentine's Day in my shop and I've been working hard to add new items and themes.
This year I'm concentrating on personalised bag toppers, tags and cards for classroom Valentines. All of these have an editable text field to type a child's name or small message. You can also remove the sample text in the file to print them blank, if you prefer to have your child write their name on the card.

I created a variety of formats and themes, from simple cards, to gift tags or bag toppers for ziploc bags that you can fill with your choice of treats or a small toy.

I love the "cookies and milk" ones. I already had that theme for a birthday party in the shop and I knew I had to use it for Valentine's Day. So cute!

You can find all these and more in the shop. I'll be adding more items soon, so stay tuned for new colours and themes.
What format and themes do you prefer?

Valentine's Day Food

With Valentine's Day coming in just over a month, it's time to start thinking pink, red and hearts.
They say the way to a man's (or woman's) heart it's through his stomach...

Today I'll show you a few ways to say "I love you" with food. I know I wouldn't mind a heart-shaped bacon and eggs for a romantic breakfast!
Do you cook a special meal for Valentine's Day?

Hello 2014!

Another year has passed and 2013 left some great memories behind.
I don't want 2014 to be a new beginning. Instead I want it to be an extension of these wonderful times for my family, my personal life and my little business, MyPartyDesign.

I don't usually have New Year resolutions but this year I have some goals that I want to achieve and I know I have to work on them.

So this is my list for 2014:

  1. Get organised
  2. No more leaving little papers with random to-do lists around the house. This year I'll do my best to keep them all inside my planner.

Plan week meals ahead, so I can shop smarter and stress less about what to cook for dinner. I keep a weekly planner in my fridge for this. You can find it in my shop here.

Update the shop more often with new products, stay ahead of the Holidays and list seasonal items early.

Write more blog posts and update social media regularly.

  3. Get Healthy
  4. Eat more fruit and veggies.

Drink plenty of water (hence the cute owl bottle in the picture).

Exercise a little. I was gonna say "get fit" but I don't think that's gonna happen so this will have to do...

  5. Relax!
  6. Stress less and learn to accept what I can't change.

Go out more and enjoy the little things.

Make a real effort to accommodate some quality time away from the computer on a regular basis.

And that's it for me. What about you? Do you write down your New Year resolutions? Do you have any special plans and goals for 2014?
