A couple of months ago, one of my designer friends came to me all excited about this new website she had found. She told me it was so useful and easy to use that she had become completely addicted to it and promptly showed me the app on her iphone.
At first I didn't pay much attention, but when she sent me the email invite to join Pinterest, I gave it a go.
So what is so good about this website, is that it allows you to collect and organize pictures with direct links to the website where they originally came from. Each picture is called a "pin" and you pin it in one of your "pinboards". You can create as many pinboards as you like, and these are just like the folders in your computer. You can also follow people with similar tastes to yours or particular boards, so you can see all their new pins and repin them if you like.
This is specially useful for us, creative people, that are constantly looking for inspiration. I used to have folders with pictures of things I wanted to do and I often needed to know the source of the photos and couldn't remember where I got them from. With Pinterest I'll never have that problem again!
People also use Pinteret to gather recipes, decoration ideas for the house or wedding planning.
It's a great source of inspiration, a powerful bookmarking tool and a way of sharing your creations. I highly recommend it!
