Etsy Finds - Mosey Handmade

I don't know why it still surprises me to find such talented artists on Etsy. I love browsing through the different sections of the website and I keep finding new shops with great ideas, creative concepts and unique handmade products.
There's something special about purchasing something you can't find in the shops, while supporting small businesses like mine.

Today I want to show you the work of Mosey Handmade, a sweet Etsy shop filled with waldorf inspired birthday crowns and toys.

From party hats, to fairy wands and cake decorations, there's a bit of everything! Jes uses wool felt and ribbon in her creations, making them soft and durable, perfect for little hands to play with.

All products are handmade with great attention to detail, and they all look adorable!

The crowns are definitely my favourite, they make the perfect accessory for a birthday girl/boy on their special day and they will surely lead to many hours of fun and play, even after the party.

Etsy finds - The Dirty Bandits

I love discovering new shops on Etsy and this week I found the Dirty bandits and their "Love for Sale" collection, with a variety of fun typographic cards and prints for adults.

These slightly naughty and silly notes would make a great and original Valentine's Day card!

And for singles, one of these gold foiled stamped prints would be a fun and precious gift.

Check their shop and their other collections at www.etsy.com/shop/dirtybandits.

New "About" page on Etsy

My "About" page here

Etsy has recently announced a new "About" page for our shops and I couldn't be more excited about it!

Not only we now have a place to tell our story, but we can also show our customers some pictures of our studios or details of the favorite materials and tools we use in our work.

As soon as I got the news, I couldn't wait to get my "About" page ready, so I started working on it straight away. You can have a look at it here.

I hope you enjoy finding out a bit more about me and the story of my shop!

How it all started

About 5 months ago I moved from Portugal to Sydney.

Although I loved my country and I had a stable life, living in a brand new apartment and working full time as a graphic designer, I wasn't completely fulfilled with my job and I was worried about the future with the economical crisis going on there.
Taking the step to move so far away wasn't easy, but my boyfriend had a lot of relatives here and they welcomed and supported us through this new beginning.

My boyfriend found a nice job straight away, but for me it took a while. At first I was studying, then I started to work in casual jobs. By the time I finished the English course I was only working about 5 hours a day, so I grabbed the opportunity to spend my spare time doing something I love and that could give me some extra money.
That's when I opened the Etsy shop at www.mypartydesign.etsy.com and started taking my party decoration ideas more seriously.

This blog will not only be a showcase of my work, but also a diary of my Australian adventure. Wish me luck! :)
