Wedding Inspiration

If you're planning on sending "Thank You" cards to your guests after the wedding, take the time to take a special picture on the day, while the photographer is there.

There are a lot of Etsy sellers offering "Thank You" props for that purpose and they'll make for beautiful and original pictures. You can also make your own props, if you're good at crafts and don't want to spend that money.

Check some ideas below. All props from Etsy.

Party food - fruit

Photo from here

Seasonal fruit is a great addition to any party table. These fresh treats are perfect for Summer parties and make a delicious and healthier option to sweets.
Fill paper bags with cherries or other small fruits and display them in trays or wooden crates.

A great way to give a party table a special touch is using a unique table towel.
This ruffled skirt really makes the table stand out with a more festive look and is perfect for a girl's party!

Did you know there's a trick for perfectly uniformly sized cupcakes?
It's called a batter dispenser! With one of these you can pour the cake batter into the cake pan without any drips and using the exact same amount every time. And it work for pancakes too!
Have you ever tried one of these? I bet it would solve the problem with my always uneven cupcakes!

Instant Guestbooks are becoming a new trend for weddings. They're easy to create and guests surely have a lot of fun photographing each others and being involved in that special day.
And if you have a photo booth or some fun props for them to use, even better!

To have your own instant guestbook, you just need to have a Polaroid camera (and film) or a digital photo printer on the spot. Set up a little photo space with good lighting, have a photo album with pockets for the pictures and a space for guests to write their wedding wishes and you're done!

Your guests will love it and you'll have the guestbook ready at the end of the day!

Party Food - Chocolate Dipped Marshmallows

These are a great option for a sweet party treat if you don't want to spend a lot of time baking.
They're really easy to make and they'll be a favourite among the kids at the party.

Simply melt some chocolate, dip the marshmallows and sprinkle with your desired topping.

Photo (and recipe) from here

For a different look, use white chocolate and add food colouring matching the colours of your party. Dip the marshmallows and have them served on a stick. Simple, yet so cute!

Organizing and planning

There's something I need to tell you. I'm a bit of an organization freak, I admit it.
I'm the kind of person who has multiple planners, for different things: one for personal things, one for work and a small one to go in my purse. I also use Google Calendar and Post-its are my best friends!

I love "to-do lists" and I always carry a piece of paper in my pocket with things to do on that day or a grocery list. Yes, every day, all the time. That's why I need to check all the pockets in my clothes before doing the laundry...  :)

Yesterday I was looking at the meal planner in my fridge, one that I bought a while ago and is nearly finished, and I thought "Why did I buy that if I could make one myself?".

And my first organization printable was born! This weekly meal planner is now available in my shop, in three different colours.

I hope you find it as useful as I do. I know I couldn't live without mine any more...

My new business cards

When I heard about the partnership between Moo and Etsy, offering Etsy sellers a free sample of business cards, I knew I had to get mines made.

There had been a lot of times before, when talking about my shop, that I wish I had some samples of my work with me, so I could explain it better. These Moo cards, with their "Printfinity" technology, allow us to use multiple images for the back of the card, which is perfect for us, Etsy sellers, to display our products.

I loved the concept and I fell in love with the cards as soon as I got them in the mail. I used a variety of pictures of the products in my shop for the back, and a clean front with my contact details. Check them out!

(excuse the poor picture quality, I'm a terrible photographer...)

Multiple images on the back of the card...

...and the front of the card with contact details.

And of course, a cute card holder that I found on sale at Dymocks. Great find!

Fabulous cakes

Photo from here

I really admire the work of great party chefs (and artists) who can make cakes of any size and shape, almost as if they were sculptures, but my favourites are always the simplest cakes. And if they hide a little surprise inside, even better!

How do you like this pink ombre layered cake?

Cake stands. All shapes, colours and sizes, I love them all!

The cake will always be the centre of the party and a proper cake stand is essential to give it some hight and make it shine.
I also like to use the smaller ones for cupcakes. I think they look even more adorable!

What about you? Do you have a lot of different cake stands?

Blowing bubbles at the bride and groom after the ceremony can be a great alternative to the traditional rice.
They're not messy, kids will love them and you'll end up with beautiful photos.

What are you planning to use on your wedding?

Colour Palettes - Pretty Pastels

For this week's colour palette, I've chosen sweets shades of pink and mint, great for a baby shower, a baby girl's birthday or a tea party.

Party Food: Watermelon cups with Feta and Mint

Recipe and credits here

As much as I love the cakes and sweets in a party, it's always nice to have a non-sweet alternative.

This bite size watermelon cups with feta cheese and mint are so easy to make and they look fabulous and delicious!
They can make a fresh and different entrée for a Summer dinner too!

You can find the recipe here.

New "About" page on Etsy

My "About" page here

Etsy has recently announced a new "About" page for our shops and I couldn't be more excited about it!

Not only we now have a place to tell our story, but we can also show our customers some pictures of our studios or details of the favorite materials and tools we use in our work.

As soon as I got the news, I couldn't wait to get my "About" page ready, so I started working on it straight away. You can have a look at it here.

I hope you enjoy finding out a bit more about me and the story of my shop!
